I cannot believe it is 2025. I feel like 2024 flew by in a blur. I did a lot of reading, reflecting, and resetting this past year, and I am excited to see what 2025 brings.
As of right now, I don’t have too much in the pipeline for poetry yet. BUT I left my engineering job and now have more time to commit to being a family woman and writer! I am super excited about this big change and all the fruits it has brought and will continue to bring in 2025.
My goal this year is to submit to a few journals and really to just keep writing. I am grateful for your support as I continue to grow as a poet and a person.
As a thank you to my subscribers, I dug deep into my Notes app and found a poem from the vault (2015) that I want to share:
Almost anything can be a poem: the whispers of the trees in the breeze; the smiles of children sneaking through the halls; the smell of clean earth and cocoa fruit in a distant country; the thoughts of birds flying high dreaming about life on the ground. Poetry isn't just the words of one species, it's the song of nature— the song of everything. Poetry is the rhythm of life that surrounds our souls and dances with the wind. Poetry cannot be controlled, cannot be silenced, for it is always there.
So excited to read what you write this year!
I'm reading this over Maria's shoulder, too!
