LIFE HAPPENS
Dear friends,
I can’t believe it has been almost half a year since I last wrote an update. As you may know, in April, we decided to sell our home with absolutely no clue where we would be going next. We felt God calling us to move, so we put our house on the market, received an offer, and then scrambled to find a month-to-month rental.
We landed in a temporary home, as you also know if you read Home. that backed right up to the Mississippi River and was such a blessing. We were able to watch geese play in the waters as they rose in Spring floods and laughed as our dog attempted to chase the unsuspecting water fowl. We witnessed beautiful sunsets and even more spectacular: the Northern Lights one cool spring evening on the back porch.
During this time, Alejandro had applied to his dream job in St Paul, which of course he got (who doubted he would?). So after a couple of months in our temporary house, we packed up and moved to Minnesota. We were cooped up in a temporary apartment for a month or so while we house hunted. During this time we were blessed to have Alejandro’s sister, Teresa, staying with us to help watch “Nilla” (I know she is subscribed - so thank you 😊).
After three or four rejected house offers and one accepted house offer with a failed inspection, we were nearing hopelessness, but we finally found a house we loved and had an accepted offer! We closed in July and have been slowly moving in since.
We’ve been enjoying the beautiful summer weather in Minnesota: going on walks to the park, exploring the area on bike, kayaking in the land of 10,000 lakes, and camping with family!
All of this to say, life has been happening and it has been so sweet. Thank you for all of your support, and I hope to share more poetry and exciting events as I get more settled into our new routines.
P.S. Didn’t claim a FREE copy of Home. but would like to? Reach out to me via substack/comment and I’ll send one your way!
